Battle of the Frozen Coffee Drinks...cont'd
Now that we have the Coolattas of Dunkin' Donuts cleared up, it is time to move on to another coffee house chain. Today is Starbucks. Who doesn't love Starbucks? They have the most delicious coffee and even better snacks. However, for the most part...they don't carry the healthiest choices. Unless you seek them out!
Here is a list of various Frozen Coffee Drinks from Starbucks. I stuck with Grande sized beverages which are 16 oz. Obviously the larger you go, the more calories and fat will follow.
Grande Vanilla Frappuccino (whole milk, whipped cream) - 420 calories, 14 g fat
Grande Vanilla Frappuccino Light - 170 calories, 0 g fat
Grande Caramel Frappuccino (whole milk, whipped cream) - 390 calories, 15 g fat
Grande Caramel Frappuccino Light - 147 calories, 1 g fat
Grande Mocha Frappuccino (whole milk, whipped cream) - 370 calories, 15 g fat
Grande Mocha Frappuccino Light - 140 calories, 1 g fat
Are you getting the picture? Cut out the whipped cream and save yourself 120 calories. Switch to a lower fat or nonfat milk...save another 20. I've had most of the Light Frappuccino flavors and they are all delicious and perfectly satisfying. What I am trying to say is avoid the regular versions at all cost. They are not worth the added fat and sugar! Check out Starbuck's nutrition page for more information. Next time I'll go over the other coffee beverages at Starbuck's. Knowing which to choose and which to avoid can help save hundreds of calories and may solve your issues with weight loss too...maybe.
